New Painting

No, I certainly did not paint this wonderful piece which is entitled Birch Sisters.  It was done by Sandra Paynter Washburn who is my art teacher.  However I DID purchase this painting and I love seeing it every time I pass by. I know that the photograph is a bit crooked but that was on purpose to eliminate the glare. The photograph does not convey just how wonderful it is.

Now I need to get inspired to work on some of my own paintings!  I have finished the fish but I really need to find a place/way to photograph painting better. Unfortunately, I injured one fish that I have to repair. I posted this large format so the gold flecks on some of the fish could be seen but I don't think they show up very well.

This is the piece I am presently working on.  No, I did not run across it with shoes that had treads but I agree that it appears that I did.  It will be fun for me to see how this evolves.

In other news, guess who I saw when I took Brooklyn for a walk the other day?  With all the rain we have had recently, they could be swimming just about any where but I had never seen them in this yard previously.

As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions.  If you do not wish to comment on the blog, you can email me at vickistyons@me.com.

  1. Do you suppose that Mouse Creek was just running too high and fast?
Isn't it nice that you can make the injured fish well? "I brought you into this world and I can fix you!"

  2. Your paintings differ so much from mine. Yours have a lovely freedom and mine have the control of the "oldest child". Your fish are a joy to watch as they swim about in their sunlit pond.
