Wet Hornets

I have not been painting for a couple of weeks but have been trying to draw some.  Of course I need lots of practice and fortunately it is something I really enjoy doing. About once a week my sister and I get together for coffee and art.  Yesterday Caroline and I met for art and chai tea at Starbucks.   We discovered that we really preferred the coffee house at the library but as it is closed, that is no longer a choice.  You see we know the server at the library and he knows us. Plus we could always get a rather large table to spread out our materials so we could draw or surf the Internet AND it is a rather convenient place to get books and CD's!

At any rate I drew myself a few days ago and when my BIL happened to see it, he opined that I looked as mad as a wet hornet.  I feel sure my son would say that it is skewed to the upper right quadrant.  I am blaming that on my astigmatism...  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!  (Perhaps I should draw on graph paper or even on a table rather than in my lap--hmm)  The comment on the page refers to the fact that it doesn't look much like me but rather like some other grim woman.

Even though I need to redo that pic, I moved on to another.  Caroline sent me this pic for me to draw.
There is the slight chance that she may injure me for posting this pic as she took it before she even got out of bed because she wanted to give me another face to draw. Plus she may not appreciate that I drew her with a somewhat popped right eye  However did you notice she doesn't have any wrinkles? My sister is older than I am by 6 years.  Where are her wrinkles?  Her eyes have absolutely none!

Okay now it is your turn to post your pics of us.

XOXO
Vicki

  1. I can't believe that you posted the pic of the crazy woman. Now I will have to dress up,make-up and do my hair before I send you a pic to draw. No more weird expressions, either. Your drawings will just have to be bland!

  3. I LOVE this picture of Caroline (both versions!) - so honest and touching. I'm sure she'll forgive you. And you've added something extra in your own drawing.
