Berries and Blossoms

Because there were some men working in the house, I decided to take Brooklyn for a walk in hopes of tiring her so she would not bother them.  Okay one of us got tired but it wasn't Brooklyn!  Anyway along the way I could not help but notice how beautiful the berries were on the bushes.  And I also saw some tiny blossoms.  They were so cheerful after so many days of gray.

Why were workers in my house?  Evidently lamp cords are not supposed to smolder and turn black so I had to call an electrician to repair the outlet.  Of course I could have fixed it myself but I wasn't willing to get electrocuted in the process.

While the electrician was here I spoke with him about adding lights in my kitchen so I didn't have to wear a miner's hat to find my way around. This pic was taken in day light so you can imagine how dark it was at night.

Here is the DURING pic to share.  Talk about a mess and dust was everywhere but it was worth it.

I finally got it cleaned and most thing back into place or into new places--good time to rearrange. The ovens may look as if they are not in the light but that is because they have black fronts.  Actually I can now read the dials!  It is WONDERFUL.  Yes, I am shouting it!

Now to clean the dust from the rest of my house.  Oh, did I mention that I got some extra outlets in other rooms also so I no longer have multi-plugs in my outlets with extension cords running everywhere.

  1. That is a gorgeous kitchen you have there, Vicki. I am very envious.
It's good to hear about the lighting, so important. And just look at your pottery collection!

  2. That is SO much better. It was always a pretty kitchen, but definitely gloomy with that little light fixture barely sending out rays. I think that working in there will be a much more pleasant experience and I am looking for some more great meals!
