Irony
I have joined my brother and sister in a small rental business. We have purchased three rental houses and because we refuse to be slum lords, we have massive cleaning to do. Yuck. One house is rented at this time, one house is ALMOST under control but the last house needs MASSIVE cleaning and I am not even talking about the repair work. It does, however, look nice from the outside. The irony is that I do not even like the clean the Bijou and that is my OWN dirt and now I am cleaning someone else's who really did not live in a very clean environment. Before and after pics to follow!
SEEING IS BELIEVING
I just had the cataract removed from one eye and my distance vision is wonderful in that eye. Close vision is not so good even though I had got the type of lens that should give me close vision. Of course the doctor told me that I was not a good candidate for it due to some other eye problems but it seems to be getting better so I am still holding out hope that my near vision will be decent. I am looking forward to saying goodbye to my glasses but for now, it is great that they are not constantly required.
SHOPPING
Caroline I went shopping and she bought a lovely new scarf in which she looks quite glamourous. Aren't those colors fantastic together?
I, on the other hand, made a big purchase but it was more pedestrian. Except, perhaps, to me! The washer is top loader but the repairman who couldn't fix my old one without a lot of $$$ said to get a top loader that is like a front loader. It stead of an agitator, it has a newtater or perhaps he said natator. At any rate, I thought that sounded like something to be served with green beans!
Something Fishy
No painting lately but I have noticed there is something fishy about my doodles. These were fun to draw.
HER MAJESTY
The back door will not click closed without super human effort but it shuts fairly tight anyway. Her Majesty will head butt the door open but if it does not swing open far enough for her to enter, she lets out a royal bark. What? She can butt it open but not give it a gentle push afterwards?
Hope all is well at your houses. Your comments are always welcomed.
I love your doodles. wouldn't it be fun to sit and doodle instead of cleaning those Houses? Perhaps we can tell the new renters that they have to be clean because we have doodling to do. Think that would work?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear your eye op is a success.
ReplyDeleteAnd how wonderful to take on a big project with your sister. I'd love that: cleaning together and deciding about domestic arrangements, perhaps picnicking in the empty rooms. When my sister and I had to empty our parents' home, where we were born, I don't think we had ever been so close. There was sadness but the act of cleaning and making things nice for the next owners was fun because we were together as we had not been for years - I'd moved away.
I like those doodles too. Gorgeous sinuous lines and tiny details. And your lovely sister chose the right scarf!
