Now the challenge was what to do with the paint.
I decided a subtle green stripe would help the cushions. After I did one, I decided it really didn't make that much difference so now the decision is whether to paint the other cushions or to cover the green on this one.
Then I decided perhaps I should use the paint to do some stenciling.
The thing that would make the absolute most difference in the appearance of the porch would be to paint the floor. I have been scraping it a little at a time because it is not easy. Here is the irony: I plan to distress the walls in the guest room but I want to have a pristine porch floor!
Porch floor. Got a bit more off today!
I would like to do something like this to the guest room. Most directions I have found include joint compound to make the walls rough but I don't think I'll go that route as it is difficult to turn back!
Here is a bit of art I worked on today. A very small bit!
I made this stamp several days ago which, for me, was no small feat!
I also made the stamp that shows in blue here but the lavender is the stencil that I used on the table (above) and I can not lay claim to it. This is the beginning of SOMETHING but I'm not exactly what the something will be!
As always, I would love to hear from you either with a comment on this blog or an email to vickistyons@me.com
I like the green stripes. And they look very nice with the table. Then again, they must have been a lot of trouble and it all looks good without them also. Your papers are yummy.
ReplyDeleteThe wall will be a challenge, but I know that you can do it.
I had no idea you could paint fabric so easily - but that's America for you (looked at from the outside), the land of possibilities! The cushion looks lovely and cool on the porch.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a good name, the Oops Table! One person's mistaken choice, another's happy find.
The stamp art is very beautiful. Clever you.
