Chapeaux Shopping

                                         HATS
With the wedding rapidly approaching, it was time to find appropriate hats per the request of the bride that we dress 20s style. So on Saturday after breakfast with my sister and her husband, and my brother and his wife, the three women set off for the antique stores.
It was a beautiful day and we had a grand time trying on hats and giggling. We bought several so we are all set.  Caroline got one that is very similar to one our great grandmother wore in a picture we have of her.  It is lovely and Caroline looks wonderful in it.  She wore it all over the store but finally took it off to purchase it and for the drive home.  Unfortunately I do not have a pic but will get one at the wedding, I hope.
Here is a Christian Dior beret, I bought and then I found another hat.

After that there was hat swapping and more hat shopping.  I have settled on the black one. Well, I think  I have settled on it.  I know it really not a hat from the 20's but I think it will be fun and best of all, it has an elastic band that goes in the back to hold the hat on my head.  Of course I still really like my first hat but when I changed the dress I am wearing, the hat had to change also.  But isn't this feather and veil arrangement great?!

I am looking forward to having a great time but after having my son single for 38 years, it seems really strange that he will be married.  I am very happy for him.

Oh, and my sister also found another hat which is a cloche and she looks fab in it.  (I hope to borrow it from her occasionally!!)
