The Purse Tells the Story

Friday I met my sister at the library where we enjoyed a cup of dirty chai and chatted.  She did a bit of drawing while I made some lists and then I noticed something.  Our purses were both on the table and they sum up the differences between us.  I asked her which purse was more elegant and she reluctantly said hers was. (I think she didn't want to insult me) Then I asked which was more in your face red and mine was the winner and then I asked about the price and whose was on sale.  Hers was much more expensive but I was surprised when she said she had a coupon for 20% off and, of course, mine was on sale.

My purse is the Kate Landry on the left and hers is the Brahmin on the right.  These differences also reflected in our houses.  At The Bijou (my house) every room is a different color and the dining room is a metallic lime green. I have a conglomeration of furniture--whatever strikes my fancy. At Tantivy (her house) the room are painted beautiful colors but they are more sedate and classy. Her furniture is just about all Stickley which is wonderful in her bungalow   Now, check out the insides of our purses.  Again they are very reflective of us. It is difficult to discern from the picture but her is very neat and organized while mine...Well, let's just say mine isn't but it does have the fun leopard print!

Hers
Mine

The strange part is this: in general, we are just the opposite in our paintings.  She often uses bright colors and clear lines while many of my painting have softer colors and the colors sort of blur into each other.  I love to celebrate our differences!

  1. Thank you for the very revealing and insightful exposure of your handbags. What a good idea it is to compare.

I like a small bag with just the bare essentials whereas my sister has an enormous one, chock full of emergency stuff like make-up, address book and wallet of grandchildren's photos. But then, she has a much busier social life.

Ladies, you are both very stylish indeed.

  2. Tuesday was a big sale at Dillard's and Vicki might have to do the handbag thing again. We both indulged and she got two. However, hers are still more "out there" than mine and also very cool. Very.

  3. Caroline is right, I bought two purses and no I did not NEED them. However I think they tell the story just as well as the original ones.
