Time

The time is getting close and in just over two weeks my son will be married!!  I know it will be a lovely wedding and I hope that everyone will have a fun time at the rehearsal dinner I am planning. That is the part that has me a bit nervous but I feel sure it will turn out fine. Here is the sweet couple just before leaving for a Kentucky Derby party summer a year ago.

Tomorrow night is the gathering for my brother's birthday and I must get busy making him a card.  I have the idea, it is just the execution I don't have planned.  Here is the real question: why did I ever start MAKING him cards?  As I was gathering some ideas for the graphics I plan to draw, his wife called to ask me to make him a card because he enjoys them.....she, of course, was BUYING one.  It should be fun to make.  I'll MAY show it to you next time.

Art class was yesterday and I really have not accomplished much. This is my original pour--->.  I love the colors but the problem is this: how should I proceed?

<---Here is a tiny bit of work I have done.  Actually I think the lines make a pretty big difference which  is very surprising.  I was thinking I might paint something with birds in it as I can pick out a few in this pour.  Do you see them?  However my teacher, Sandra Washburn, had another idea and suggested Koi fish.  I like that idea and have made a few preliminary plans for the fish. The fish will not require the addition of a lot of green which I think will be necessary for birds.  Click on Sandy's name to see some of her work and find out about her.  She is very talented.

Saturday a wine tasting event called Wine Over Water will take place in Chattanooga.  It is on an old wooden bridge that spans the Tennessee River which is now relegated to a walking bridge.  However this year rather than going to WOW, I am planning to have Booze at the Bijou with my sister and a few friends.  I realize it doesn't sound quite as classy but...  Anyway preparations are underway. The yellow bottle in the foreground was bought only because it is a beautiful bottle and if the wine is good, that will be a bonus!  Also one of the wines is Angel Food so you can see we do not qualify as oenophiles!  I bet you are wondering how that wine just hanging in the air:-)

As always I would enjoy any comments you may wish to make.  If you are looking at this in your email mode, you will need to click on the title to take you to the web mode.  Of you may email me at vickistyons@me.com.

  2. You must be terribly excited about the wedding. I hope to hear and see more about the preparations.

You are obviously getting into training, wine-wise!
