Something New

Something New.

My birthday was this week and to celebrate it I thought I would treat myself to a little something new to put in my driveway and I am hoping for good gas mileage!

I thought it would be smaller than the older one and hoped for more space in the driveway but if you look at the concrete pad, you will notice that it is actually larger than the previously one.

Just Doodling Around.

No art lately except for some doodling.  I got another page done during Downton Abby!! Relaxing and fun. What more could I ask?

A bit of shine

We have had lots of dreary days and I needed sun shine but rather than that, I got some silver shine.  I polished what was originally my mother's silver flatware.  She was married in 1942 and the pieces are so much smaller than flatware is now.  Perhaps that was our first step toward super-sizing...enlarging the utensils!  These photographs do not do them justice.  The pieces are actually very pretty and the soup spoon is by far my favorite.

The Reluctant Walker

With so many rainy days, I didn't take Brooklyn out for a walk and thought she would really enjoy going.  I got geared up, put on her leash and she was out the door in no time.  However...

I got the idea that she did not really want to go for a walk

  And finally, she convenced me...haha

And Last...
I do not know this Vicki but I like her style and would love to be able to carry her sign around with me for emergencies..

  1. I really like that sign, and the silver looks very nice and shiny. I always thought that pattern was pretty which is probably why mine is so much like it.

Brooklyn gives us lots of giggles. We will miss her if Elliot decides to take her back.

  2. My Dad was a silversmith so I have a bit of an eye for silver.

It's interesting (to me) that in our home we had Finnish cutlery, now over 50 years old and still very modern, which my Mum passed to me as a wedding present. We could have had wonderful silver but no, Dad admired stainless steel with black handles.

I smiled at the motif on Brooklyn's lead!
