While everyone else was taking pics of Italy, I was taking pics of some of them. Kay, my SIL.
Debbie putting her phone to use with Joel Simpkins looking on.
Caroline practicing her photography skills
One of the grotesque faces. I loved this one and had to try to draw it after I got home.
Isn't this beautiful? I simply loved it and thought it would look great at the Bijou, but decided against packing it for the trip home.
In living color and black and white
Which do you like more?
This face is made of paper. The hair is twisted pieces. There were several in the shop window of a clothing store.
Venice was full of masks--some were beautiful and some were... well...more like this one.
Made of glass
Drew taking a break with Pongo
There was some wind blowing as we stood on the bridge over the Arno River in Florence
It's a wonder we didn't need neck braces after all the ceiling gazing we did.
Joel giving a toothy grin for the camera as we were getting ready to eat.
I was a bit tired!
Love the angle of the neck--she is showing some real attitude!
Another of the grotesque faces.
Obviously I was captivated by these faces!
I think he would look good in front of the Bijou.
More ceiling gazing which, obviously, required one's mouth to hang open. I noticed that about myself and tried not to drool.
Everyone was either trying to push the Tower of Pisa over or hold it up!
Do they plan to color coordinate? This could not just happen!
We can see who the diva of Buddy's family is. That is Joel in the background and Buddy and Kay in the foreground. Katie, of course, I ready for her close-up.
Oops, I spoke too soon. Evidently Joel is also ready to look cool for the camera.
Doesn't Drew look great wearing Pongo's hat?
Waiting in line for the toilet. No euros required this time!
Can you believe I actually saw the Pieta? How can anything that beautiful be sculpted?
Not mentioning any names but I think someone is ready for a nap!
Isn't this great? Do you think he is practicing for a photo bomb?
For the past several days I have been scraping paint at a rental house. I really do not mind it but my "art" elbow is not having such a good time and my hand is getting stiff from holding the scraper. I broke my hand about 50 years ago and it never passes an opportunity to remind me!
Great pics and they bring back such good memories.
ReplyDeleteI've looked at all the photos of your trip to Italy and they really are a complete record of all those wonderful sights, beautiful as well as amusing. It must be great to travel about in a family group. Maybe we'll do that when our little girls are older. However, we'll be even older ourselves so maybe that won't work!
ReplyDeleteWe've been in the Perigord (SW France), looking at some of the oldest signs of humanity. I tried hard to think myself into the scene 55,000 years ago but it's hard when there are crowds of you in the same place. And everyone has a camera these days so our pics often included enthusiastic photographers!
