In the Nick of Time

This autumn has been glorious and of special beauty has been a maple tree right beside the Bijou. I got pictures about two days ago and it was just in the nick of time.  Yesterday the wind did its work on defoliating the trees and today the rain managed to get the remaining leaves. Unfortunately my photographs do not do justice to the view.

The Bijou
I made some discoveries in my workroom:
1.  Moving stuff from one place to another does not actually increase the size of the room.
2.  Getting rid of unnecessary stuff frees up space for more frequently used items.
3.  Having a comfortable chair in the workroom to just sit is wonderful.
4.  Making myself work some every day enables me to get much more accomplished.

What? You already knew these truths?

So here is my progress of the past few days.  I don't know how this will develop but here is the progression so far.

Left: The pour and some lines

Right: A color wash of is added

Left: Several stamps are added

Right: Transfers of vintage postcards and photo- graphs are added--this is a close up of a postcard

My progress so far.

It seemed that I needed a break from the above project so I drew this guy to grace the cover on a sketch book.  I used watercolor pencils.  I love those things!

As always, I would love to hear from you.  There is some info below that may help you to leave a comment or you may email me at vickistyons@me.com

My sister figured out how you can leave a comment. Write your comment, and sign it with your name (first is enough, I know who you are). Then choose "anonymous" at the bottom of the list of ways to comment. Then choose "publish." If you have ever had a google account you can use it if you can remember your user name and password. I hope that this works for you.

  1. I like the boy and I think that the others, better even in person, are going to be great. I am going to try the new idea about posting a comment.
